In our last conversation in December, I mentioned the possibility of arranging a short-course on Molecular Simulation. I have already received your letter dated December 10. Thank you for your valuable suggestions concerning the development of molecular simulation at UCL.
As you previously stated, molecular simulation is an effective tool for facilitating the identification of polymer structure and application. I also agree that the introduction of Molecular Simulation at UCL would stimulate a more thorough understanding, and much related research activity in the area of polymer morphology-structure property relationships.
The current and future topics to be undertaken at the Polymer Division include Morphology Control Polymer Blends, Interface/Adhesion of Thermoplastic Composite, and Polymer Additive/Processing Aid Behavior in Polymer Matrixes. Therefore, many of our future research activities will be related to adhesion, surface, interface and interaction forces. The systems we would like to employ may be primarily related to polymer blends and coation/surface treatments. I hope that through this short training program, we can determine the systems and research topics that need to be focused on.
The following topics may be a helpful guide when determining the content of a short training course. Of course, you should feel free to ammend or expand any of these topics.
1. Current developments and the application of MS in Polymer research
2. Applications of co-polymer composition/structure/property (specific topics of interest: hexamethyldiamine, adipic acid, terephthalic acid copolymer property and structure)
3. Polyolefin (PE, PP, PS) Conformation/Properties (system of particular interest: Metallocene Based Polymers)
4. Adhesion/Interface: Polymer Blends and Tire Cords (Nylon 6, Nylon 66, PET) in Rubber
5. Surface Treatment/Adhesion (Thin Film Formation on Polymer Surface, i.e., Plasma, Chemical Vapor Deposition and Adhesion with Polymer Substrates, such as PC and PMMA)
The above topics are simply for your reference. Topics #3 and #5 can be prioritized, with #2 and #3 as the minor emphases. I hope related fundamental concepts (Theory, Basis and Structure of MS) and the state-of-the-art MS technology can also be included in the training curriculum.

工程計劃目標 A novel mechanism can be developed to alleviate the above negative impact. By processing only the control frame, the CPU can execute its main functions, but not perform encryption/decryption for traffic, thus reducing CPU loading and achieving a high wire-speed connection. 達成目標的方法 To do so, security can be implemented by FPGA, i.e. a prototype for hardware implementation. Hardware can be implemented as follows. The design can be divided into a control plan and a data plan. Next, the CPU can be used to write some control parameters into control registers of the hardware through the control plan. Additionally, all traffic coming into the data plan can be incorporated into a cryptal engine to encrypt or decrypt. Moreover, outgoing data after encryption can become ciphertxt, while incoming data after decryption can become plaintext. Also, hardware can be implemented using Verilog code. Furthermore, Verilog can be downloaded into a FPGA prototype. 希望的結果 As anticipated, the proposed mechanism can ensure that a high wire-speed connection can be achieved by hardware implementation. Encryption and decryption can also be executed by hardware. Additionally, wire-speed can decrease the CPU loading, and all traffic will not enter the CPU. 領域的貢獻 Moreover, via the proposed mechanism, the CPU can be absorbed to execute its main functions, thus decreasing frame losses, alleviating traffic congestion, reducing latency, and enhancing network security.
