Taiwan’s electronics industry was not, until only a decade ago, globally competitive. Before that time, most corporations were not very profitable since they focused on assembling product components, while overseas firms dominated the manufacturing of vital components such as the CPU and the chipset. Taiwan’s government then devoted itself to developing the electronics industry so that many Taiwanese corporations can now design complex chips. This ability has allowed local firms to generate considerable product revenues and capture a sizable share of the global market. An increasing number of Taiwanese companies have extended their product lines to telecommunications, especially wireless communications. Such products are widely anticipated to have a high added value in the near future. These exciting trends in the telecommunications industry in Taiwan have largely determined Jack’s decision to undertake IC design research in telecommunications. Jack feels confident that he is moving in the right direction.

工程計劃建構 HCI is increasingly interpreting the natural behavior of computer users, explaining the considerable attention paid to multimodal HCI. Given the ability of multimodal interfaces to facilitate human interaction with machines through multiple modalities such as speech, gestures and gazes, such interfaces can ultimately reduce both the time to complete tasks and error rates. Essential to developing a multimodal human-computer interface, the multimodal interpretation module integrates information from various modalities, e.g., speech, gestures and user computer commands. 工程計劃問題 However, in addition to only adopting symbolic approaches treating various modalities as operating independently, this module seldom uses rich interaction contexts. Consequently, besides its low portability in other application domains, the multimodal interpretation module can not enhance its interpretation accuracy owing to the inability to exploit the mutually compensative and contextual information of various modalities. Moreover, evaluating a multimodal HCI is often subjective and reliant on various application domains.
