Crocodiles eat stones,
helping them to stay on the
bottom while diving

Mom huddled over
sewing machine late at night,
in her bifocals

A cockroach can live
several weeks with its head
cut off. Starvation

Clothes stitched together
from department store sewing
patterns. Mundane tasks

Camels have eyelids
(three of them!) to protect themselves
from the blowing sand

Mom worked with her hands
throughout her difficult life
Meticulous care
